Fu XiaoDong is not only an accomplished international art curator but also an artist with profound artistic accomplishments. Her goal is to achieve harmony between contemporary art practices and the pursuit of traditional culture.

Whether observing the fragmented state of the world or collaborating with marginalised communities, Fu XiaoDong's increasing involvement in academia has led her to communicate and construct with communities worldwide, seeking harmony, tranquility, inspiration, solutions, and addressing practical issues arising from differences in life. Through exhibitions and artistic creations, we aim to explore and cultivate some modes of thinking that adapt to differences and seek ways of self-adjustment, fostering maximum integration with nature, the world, and inner peace and reconciliation, harmoniously coexisting.

During the pandemic, Fu XiaoDong traveled to Hangzhou to explore the manifestation of technical philosophy in traditional Chinese culture. Using Chinese painting as a medium, she analyzed and created based on traditional Chinese cosmology and epistemology. The concept of "wu" – representing the convergence of all things, the void, and the sea of energy – lies at the core of traditional Chinese philosophy and serves as the focal point of the artist's work. XiaoDong's paintings embody the ancient Chinese understanding of the universe's creation. The depiction of convergence, an indescribable state resembling unbounded circles and squares, showcases her grasp of the essence of "qi" or vital energy. The void is filled with lively qi, reflecting the perpetual creative force of the cosmos. Fu XiaoDong integrates the essence of traditional literati painting with contemporary art experience, deepening her understanding of true knowledge and brushwork skills. Through her artworks, she seeks to experience and practice the cognitive mode of the Five Elements Theory and the unity of heaven and humanity.
